Dated 1836 with initials MIDL. Unlike the usual band weavers carved from one piece of wood with rigid heddles, these heddles are individually carved and move slightly within the frame. Measures 4-3/4”H x 9-3/4” W. 5/15” D. Purchased from a dealer in western Minnesota who specialized in Norwegian immigrant items. A rare folk antique!
