Member benefits
- Tuition discount: WGM members receive a discount on tuition for classes and workshops. We offer classes both online and in-person. Read our Covid-19 classroom policies here.
- Receive the member e-newsletter, The Draft: The Draft features upcoming classes and events, sale and volunteer announcements and member opportunities. The Draft is the best way to find out what is going on at the guild and is sent every other Wednesday.
- Participate in an Interest or Study Group: Join one of WGM’s member-led and self-directed monthly groups. Groups can meet at WGM at no charge and use guild equipment for group projects.
- Textile Center Library borrowing privileges: All WGM members have lending privileges with the Textile Center library, the largest circulating textile library in the nation with a professional librarian.
- Equipment access: Members can use small tools on-site at no charge; this includes warping boards, warping reels, bobbin winders, manual drum carders, niddy noddys, umbrella swifts and ball winders. Please check with staff before visiting.
- Equipment rental: Members can rent spinning wheels, and rigid and inkle looms for use off-site. Members can also rent floor looms for use on-site when they are not needed for classes.
- Access to WGM’s on-site media collection: WGM holds collections of Vav, Handwoven, and SpinOff magazines, and a non-circulating library of book resources and a swatch collection.
- Network at a Member event: Programs include talks by visiting artists, presentations by local experts, a winter social in December, and the annual spring potluck/election.
