You’re Invited! Contribute to the
Portable Weavers’ Ornament Display
The Portable Weaving Interest Group invites all members of the Guild to join us in making and submitting holiday/winter ornaments to decorate the WGM office and shop this December. All traditions, materials and techniques are welcome. Ornaments must be received by December 3. We did this last winter and it was great fun to see the variety of ornaments created.
NEW: All ornaments will be eligible for the People’s Choice Award, a $20 WGM gift certificate. All visitors to WGM can vote (one vote/person) for their favorite ornament. On January 7, the votes will be tabulated and the ornament with the most votes will win.
How to participate: Create an ornament within the following parameters
  • Any material, any technique
  • Max 6″ in any one direction
  • Tag the ornament with your name
  • Drop off during our open hours or mail to WGM
  • Deadline: December 3
  • Due to space limitations, max of 2 ornaments/person please
  • Submit by email: your name, ornament name (if any), materials, and technique, (no more than 50 words) plus a photo to Karin info@weaversguildmn.org and to the Portable Weavers Coordinator Bonnie Buzza banddbuzza@gmail.com
We will share the photo and ornament information with those who can’t see the display in person. All members of the Guild are welcome to participate. You may also vote for your favorite ornament by email after viewing them in The Draft members’ newsletter (tbd, December).
About: The Portable Weavers are a small group of Weavers Guild members interested in any form of small, portable, and off-loom weaving or braiding. The group meets monthly to share ideas and projects, and learn from each other.
