All WGM members are invited to St. Distaff or Roc Day at the Guild on New Year’s Day, from 11am–4pm. It’s a chance to work on the project of your choosing among your fiber friends, while sharing some fellowship and food!
Bring some fiber craft to work on in the enjoyable company of other WGM members. The entire guild space is used for knitting, spinning, weaving, drum carding, etc. The tradition of Roc Day goes back centuries in European history, originally as the 12th day of Christmas, as a last celebration of fiber folks before their ‘work year’ started anew.
Bring a dish to share and settle in for hours of creativity! Please use the side door (west side of building, leading into the WGM space) and bring slippers/indoor shoes to wear.
VOLUNTEER NEEDED:
Will you be at Roc Day 2019? We are looking for a host for this year’s celebration! As host, you will open the building, set up the WGM space, and do some light cleaning before locking the doors. Please email Karin info@weaversguildmn.org for more information and for a description of your duties. UPDATE: Host secured! (December 26, 2018)
