Volunteer shifts are 4 hours and grant you 1 free ticket into the Fair for your shift. Volunteering at the Fair is one of WGM’s longest standing traditions and is our largest volunteer event of the year.
This year’s emphasis is on ENGAGEMENT: We are looking for volunteers who will actively engage with the public during their demonstration. This may mean guiding someone through throwing a shuttle on the floor loom, or it could be turning the wheel while a fair-goer uses their hands to spin. Maybe you’ll help a newbie work a drop spindle, or show an eager kid how to tromp on treadles.
You do not need to be an expert to volunteer, but you do need to be passionate and enjoy working with the public. Join us, and show what fun it can be to make your own yarn and cloth!
