Exhibition Opportunity: “Every Kind of Maker’s Tool” at the Owatonna Arts Center

The Weavers Guild of Minnesota seeks participants for an upcoming group exhibition celebrating the work of WGM members and the variety of equipment used to create it. Each member may submit up to 3 works. Deadline: April 1.

WGM members in the Owatonna area: This is a great opportunity to showcase your work close to home! The exhibition is at the Owatonna Arts Center, and we’d love to have your participation.

Exhibition Subject/Content/Theme:  Every Kind of Maker’s Tool

For this exhibit, we are showcasing the creations of WGM members with a specific focus on the equipment! We are looking for work made on a wide variety of equipment, tools, wheels, and looms, including everything from backstrap looms to rigid heddle, tapestry to computerized looms, work made with a spinnekrok to an e-spinner.

In addition, we ask each piece be accompanied with a bit of information about the equipment used, to aid in the viewer’s experience and understanding. The exhibit will also feature a display of work/equipment connected to WGM’s 2019 “Fiber to the People” Program.

Exhibition Dates: Sunday, April 7, 2019 to Sunday, April 28, 2019

Entrance Fees: There are no fees to the artist to participate.

Demonstrations: WGM will offer demonstrations and drop-in activities at the Owatonna Arts Center on Sunday, April 7 (opening day) and Sunday, April 28 (closing day), from 1-5pm.

Artwork must be dropped off at WGM by April 1, 2019 at 5pm (no exceptions).
