WANTED: Event Planner – Project Manager
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic fiber fanatic with Event Planning or Project Management experience to help us put on our in-person sale this coming fall. Could that be you? Do you know someone who’d like gain some practical experience for their resume?
The Guild has been able to hold a spectacular annual sale for the past 46 years because of members like you. Not only do our members have an opportunity to sell their goods, but the event helps support the Guild’s programming. Our Fall 2021 in-person Artisan Sale “Plied, Dyed & Woven” (PDW) committee has 12 members with a variety of expertise working on this amazing event. But we are missing a key player: a Co-Chair! We are looking for someone with a zest for Project Planning or Event Planning.
Over the past 24+ months our team has been working to re-envision this fabulous event. We’ve refocused it to align with our mission as a Guild. We’ve also sought to organize ourselves to make this an easily repeatable and well documented event, with Committees for each major body of work.
Your commitment would be to Co-Chair the event October 15-16, 2021 to learn the ropes and lend a hand. Then you would Chair the 2022 event with a new Co-Chair to support you. Sure, it’s hard work! But a huge benefit is working on an event so important to our members and the Guild – and getting to know a riotously funny team of fellow weavers, spinners and dyers. It’ll be a blast!
For now, you can do everything from home at your convenience! We’re currently a socially distanced group relying on Zoom to get together. Contact the sale Chair, Cathie Mayr, if you’re interested: catmayr@yahoo.com or 612-839-1824.
